We Grow Spiritually

We Believe

Our church’s mission is to grow in our Love of God, Relationships with Others, and Service to the Community and World.

  • God loves us.
  • God forgives us.
  • God blesses us.
  • We are to love one another.
  • We are to forgive one another.
  • We are to be a blessing to one another.
  • We are to treat everyone with kindness, acceptance and respect as children of God.
  • We are to be compassionate and generous.
  • We are to use our time, talents, and money to share the love and message of Jesus Christ.
  • We are to live out our faith in the World beyond the church walls.
  • We are encouraged to use our reason in reading and interpreting the Holy Scriptures in the Bible.
  • We welcome and help everyone grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • The friendships we make here help us experience the love of Jesus Christ and grow in our faith.

Our Prayer Life

Prayer is a part of everything we do. It connects us with God and with one another at the deepest level.

  • A prayer team meets weekly to pray for the church, the community and the world.
  • Requests for prayer are made regularly by members of our church family and people from the community.
  • We treat prayer requests carefully and confidentially, only sharing what we have permission to share.

Let us know your prayer requests here:

Small Groups

In small groups, we might watch a video, read a book, or listen to a presentation and have open discussions that challenge us to think about our beliefs and our relationship with God.

  • A place where beliefs often become deeper and clearer as we struggle with answers to our faith questions
  • A safe, secure setting where we can discuss our beliefs openly and nonjudgmentally
  • A good way for each of us to get better acquainted with others
  • A place to form life-long friendships
  • Groups may be short term, lasting a few weeks
  • Some groups are ongoing, but always open to new people
  • Groups may be led by anyone in the church

People who have special skills or interest, may teach a class.  Some classes we’ve had in the past are:

  • Water color painting
  • Quilting
  • Fruit tree pruning
  • Gardening
  • “This I Believe” Writing
  • Geocaching
  • Cooking

Classes and Activities for Children

Jesus said, “whoever welcomes a child in my name, welcomes me.” (Matthew 18) Jesus loved and valued children, held them on his knee, and praised them for what they teach us about God. We follow Jesus’ example as we welcome, teach and love children.

  • We welcome children in worship, not expecting them to be adults
  • We offer a learning time designed for children ages 5 and above every Sunday during the school year
  • We provide childcare during worship for younger children
  • We offer confirmation classes for youth
  • We provide opportunities for children to learn music
  • We offer other planned outings throughout the year that connect the children with adults and mentors
  • We encourage baptism as an act of God’s love, a commitment from parents and the entire congregation to help each child grow in faith, hope, and love.
  • We encourage children to attend one of the United Methodist summer camps where they form enduring friendships, experience God in the beauty of nature, and create lasting memories
  • We ensure that children and vulnerable adults are safe by carefully following “safe sanctuary policies,” including background checks for all volunteers who work with them

Camping Ministry

Camping has long been an important part of faith formation here. It provides opportunities for children and adults to form wonderful friendships, experience God in the beauty of a natural setting, and create enduring memories. Camping changes people’s lives.
